Payroll Coordinator

Salary Range:$15/hr DOE

Description:With guidance from the Payroll Director, the Payroll Coordinator assists with the biweekly processing of payroll for the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.

Previous experience with a payroll system conversion is highly desired.
Duties:Coordinates the processing of the Associationís payroll information to meet deadlines for bi-weekly payroll.

Enters data into timekeeping system for staff members without access to the automated timekeeping system.

Enters new-hire information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Updates changes to employee records in payroll system.

Enters new hire and pay rate data into the central payroll system of the Association.

Collects and reviews timesheets of Senior Management team and staff of the Association office to ensure accuracy and appropriate approvals.

Provides reports, information, and training to appropriate branch staff to ensure payroll accuracy.

Audits W-2s received from payroll service and distributes by federal deadline. Responds to requests for replacement W-2s.

Maintains internal records and staff files according to legal retention requirements.

Responds to Texas Workforce Commission requests for payroll data as it relates to unemployment claims. Forwards claims to HR SVP for final review.

Verifies employment and salary requests with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio within guidelines established by YMCA.

Answers staff member inquiries regarding paychecks, accessing paycheck stubs online, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:Bachelorís Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent work experience in lieu of education.

Two years experience working with an automated payroll processing system and payroll administration preferred.

Understanding of tax requirements and Texas Pay Day Law necessary.

Must be able to work in a highly confidential area with a high level of professionalism and excellent member service approach.

Employee must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and be abreast with contemporary payroll system processes.

Incumbent must receive 1st Aid, CPR, and BBP certifications within 60 days of hire date.
