Health and Wellness Director

Description:With general guidance of the District Vice President, the Health and Wellness Director is responsible for planning, administration, promotion, supervision and evaluation of the following areas: Health & Wellness, Group Exercise, and Aquatics. This position is responsible for planning and organizing all health, wellness, group exercise, and aquatic activities and programs; hiring and training new staff; training staff in CPR, AED, First Aid, and O2 once certified.

Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
Duties:Develop and implement complete annual budget on a yearly basis.

Develops, implements, and oversees aquatic and health and wellness programs.

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates aquatics, health and wellness, and group exercise staff.

Recruiting, training and supervision of all staff and volunteers needed to operate programs.

Manages all aspects of lifeguard and aquatics safety.

Work staff on/DOD shifts.

Manage budget expenses to achieve budgeted income and goals.

Attend regular scheduled Management Team meetings, required trainings and hold wellness staff meetings.

Assist with maintenance of personnel records in accordance with any and all regulatory agencies and the YMCA.

Maintain accurate inventory all equipment related to the program.

Achieve retention goals, as well as growth of goals- income and participation.

Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:Position Requires:

Bachelorís Degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Sports Science, Recreation or other related field.

Training, certifications or experience with group exercise, program development, YMCA fitness programs or YMCA specialist training or equipment

Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Oxygen Administration and YMCA Swim Instructor certification preferred or obtain within 60 days on the job.

Must be 21 years of age and have one to three years of experience supervising staff and managing health and wellness programs. Pool management, lifeguard, swim instructor, or water park experience is preferred, but will train in these areas.

A Texas Driverís license is required as well as driving to various locations within the city.

Employee must have working knowledge of Windows Office Suite.
