|Description:||Senior Program Director is responsible for the planning, development, administration, expansion and evaluation of all programs of the branch including healthy living, member engagement and sports. The incumbent is responsible for supervision of all program staff in the health and wellness and sports departments. The incumbent will insure that program staff produces quality programs based on members and community needs. |
|Duties:||Supervise the Sports Coordinator. Make sure that the programs are organized in a timely manner and carried out according to YMCA standards. |
Create and execute healthy living driven programs and events.
Develop and implement complete annual budget on a yearly basis.
Insure that all programs meet high standards of quality, safety and supervision at all times.
Work staff on/DOD shifts.
Recruiting, training and supervision of all staff and volunteers needed to operate programs.
Assist Branch Executive Director in professional development and training of staff as needed.
Provides input in all department committee meetings.
Works toward success for all programs to meet branch-operating goals.
Evaluate programs, add new programs and drop others where appropriate.
Participates and accepts leadership in staff meetings.
Manage budget expenses to achieve budgeted income and goals.
Attend appropriate and needed training offered by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.
Schedule and carry out regular staff meeting with needed staff and volunteers.
Assist with maintenance of personnel records in accordance with any and all regulatory agencies and the YMCA.
Prepare monthly variance reports.
Promote the “YMCA Story” with all involved in the program.
Maintain safe program areas, including indoor and outdoor areas, YMCA and non-YMCA facilities, and equipment.
Maintain clean centers and help to monitor cleaning maintenance crew.
Maintain accurate inventory all equipment related to the program.
Follow accident report procedures and policies.
Achieve retention goals, as well as growth of goals- income and participation.
Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
|Qualifications:||This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Sports Science or other related field. This position requires training, certifications or experience with group exercise, program development, YMCA fitness programs or YMCA specialist training or equipment. |
Background and at least 3-4 years experience in administration, staff supervision and promotion. To administer the program, fiscal and personnel policies of the Association, the incumbent must possess insights and skills to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. Personal leadership and commitment to health and wellness is important. Ability to delegate appropriate responsibilities is essential. Position requires knowledge of group processes and development; background in program development, community organization; good written and oral communication skills important; ability to manage department budgets and fiscal resources.
Employee must have working knowledge of Windows Office Suite.
This position requires certification of CPR, AED, First Aid, BBP or acquire within 60 days of hire. This position must have the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. A Texas Driver’s license is required as well as driving to various locations within the city.
