|Description:||With general guidance of the Executive Director, the Sports Program Director is responsible for the organization, administration, promotion and evaluation of multiple areas such as Youth Sports, and other programs that are developed throughout the year. |
Director is responsible for maintaining working relationships with the community and venders while performing these duties in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.
|Duties:||Responsible for managing all day to day operations of the sports programs including concessions. Prior to a season, secure locations for games, meetings, and events.|
Develop and implement complete annual department budget on a yearly basis with the involvement of program committees.
Achieve retention goals, as well as growth goals for income and participation.
Recruiting, training, supervision of all staff and volunteers needed to operate programs.
Responsible for the weekly staffing of site managers and weekend referees, and for creating the season schedule.
Assist as need with branch operations, meetings and special events.
Attend appropriate and needed training offered by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio. The Sports Director must also be present to all training that concerns the sports department (Parent Orientation, Coaches Trainings, No Coach meetings, Sport Cabinet meetings etc).
Maintain safe and clean program areas, including indoor and outdoor areas, YMCA and non-YMCA facilities and equipment, and help to monitor all maintenance crews.
|Qualifications:||Preferred degree and requires a minimum of two years experience in directing sport programs. |
Preference for incumbent with training and certifications in youth sports and YMCA sports programs.
A minimum of at least two years supervisory is required.
Must have 1st Aid, CPR, and BBP certifications or acquire within 60 days of hire.
Employee must be able to drive, with class “C” driver license.
Incumbent must be physically able to participate in year-round youth sports including basketball, baseball, soccer, football, and volleyball.
